Brown County Indiana is a midwestern treasure of forests, hills, lakes and streams. It is home to a vast array of recreational, cultural and just plain fun activities. The county seat of Nashville is an artist colony. Former home of Indiana's famous "Hoosier Group," it's now awash in galleries and professional craft studios. Not to be outdone by the fine art scene, Nashville has no shortage of family fun venues and tours.

Brown County attractions include recreation, artistic, musical and historic sites. This hills around Nashville, meanwhile, harbor a tremendous assortment of camps, fishing lakes, hiking trails and just plain beautiful vistas. There are retreats, state parks, state forests and enough lakes and ponds to satisfy everyone from canoe enthusiast to avid boater. If horseback riding is your mantra, you can choose among several stables and resorts that cater to the horse crowd. You can even find wineries in Brown County and the surrounding countryside. In fact, the largest vintner in the east is located in the outskirts of Bloomington, just a short drive from Nashville.
